Dantzler is a contemporary take on historic lettering found in Greenville, SC from the late 1800s.
Nestled on a tombstone found in the Springwood Cemetery of Greenville, South Carolina, Dantzler serves as a resurrection of a family name with roots dating back to the 1800s. Breathing fresh life into the historic past, Dantzler pays homage to the unrecalled lives of George, Elizabeth, and Marie Dantzler, honoring their legacy within its characters.
This unique typeface preserves the Dantzler family and shares the silent stories etched in stone, inviting a contemporary audience to connect with those gone before.

This is the original type inspiration for the Dantzler typeface. This headstone remains the last remaining piece of Dantzler family history, my goal is to keep their story alive.
